Sharing Approaches
After the break-out sessions, everyone will come together for a presentation on a sustainable producer/buyer success story with a 5-year track record. A networking lunch will follow featuring local, sustainably-produced menu items prepared by Chef Heather Kahler, Executive Chef at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The afternoon will once again feature the popular "speed dating." Buyers and farmers market organizers will be situated throughout the facility. Producers will meet individually with buyers and where appropriate, negotiate marketing agreements. CNR is encouraging producers to bring samples of their products.
CNR has worked with the Community Food Co-op to develop a star rating systems for products to reflect the qualities most desired by consumers, ie: Local, Organic, Sustainable and/or Nothing Added. If you are a producer, please update the above referenced sustainability critiera (one for Produce & Grain Producers, one for Meat Producers) and send it to CNR prior to January 28, 2008, so we can apply the rating system to your product. The updated sustainability criteria form is required for your participation in the speed dating event.
